It was one of the prisons where political prisoners served their sentences in the first years of the communist regime before they turned to Re-Education Units with forced labour, which moved from one place to another according to labour needs. According to archival data, this prison had a staff of 20 people (1 non-commissioned officer and 19 soldiers). This prison housed persons from the north-eastern part of the country. This prison is not mentioned after 1949. On 29 September 1948, a bold effort was made by Hasan Dida and Selman Oka, who managed to escape. Hasan Dida was re-convicted, while Selman Oka was killed.
