Due to its resistance to communism, Shkodra was one of the towns that was most hardly hit by the regime. The National Liberation Army declared a curfew from 28 January to 2 February 1945.During this period, people of all classes among the population were illegally arrested, especially Shkodra’s intellectuals and elite.
To handle the large number of detainees, some homes and private properties were confiscated and converted to prisons. One of these was Fasli Ademi’s home.
Its basement had four rooms with four exits, in which some tens of detainees were held. The above floor served as an office area.
